Trip to Bryce Canyon (2020)
An escape at the height of COVID-19 uncertainty

We decided to get out of the house and pop over to Bryce Canyon. On the way we stopped at Robert Leroy Parker’s childhood home:

Butch Cassidy’s childhood home

In Tropic, Utah, we found some inexpensive accommodations at Bryce Canyon Log Cabins :

Cute little cabins, all in a row

Here’s a video of the interior (June 2020):

A short drive from Tropic gets you down into the bottom of Bryce Canyon where there are dozens of trails to choose from.

The next day we drove up to the top and in through the main gate.

We took a horseback ride up Losee Canyon:

After a well-earned victory pie at Bryce Canyon Pines Restaurant , we went back into the park for the sunset.

The next day we went early to Mossy Cave:

The Tropic Ditch was created by local farmers in the 1890s and still serves farms in the town of Tropic. Mossy Cave is close by.

Then we hiked the Navajo Loop trail :

On the way home we stopped at the Big Rock Candy Mountain Restaurant . Would not try again.
